Valerie Johnson Beavers is a resident of Teaneck, NJ. She is the proud mother of two sons. Valerie is a graduate of the University of New Haven with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and music. Valerie is also a graduate of the Master of Science in Educational Technology program at Ramapo College. Additionally, she has completed the Administrative/Supervisory certification in technology, also through Ramapo College, and is in the process of obtaining a second Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Valerie is a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a member of the Bergen County Alumnae Chapter where she has served as a vice-president and Social Action Committee chairperson as well as on the Scholarship and Standards, Arts and Letters, Scholarship Luncheon and Membership committees and as a delegate to the sorority’s Eastern Regional Conference. Valerie is presently a 6th grade teacher at the Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Teaneck where she advises several clubs (Drama Club, Student Council Action Committee, S.T.E.P.S. Girls’ Mentoring Group) and is a Mentor Turnkey Trainer for the school district. She was honored by the 4G’s Book Club, Inc. at their 5th Annual “Celebration of Women” for the field of education. Valerie is the Music Department Coordinator and worship leader at True Vine Christian Center of Fair Lawn, NJ. She has sung with The Loren Daniels Trio, a jazz ensemble, is the founding member of Kindred Spirit, a women’s a capella trio, as well as performing as an actor/singer with Soul’s Desire, a multidiscipline performance ensemble. Valerie writes music and records professionally.
